Kenwood TM-D710A

A mobile Dual-Band radio, the D710A improves on the legacy of its predecessor, the D700.

With wide coverage, built-in TNC, 2M/440 transmit up to 50 Watts, cross-band repeat and other features, the D710A is arguably the best dual-band mobile radio on the market. 

The control head is permanently detached, and the package comes with a long remote cable to facilitate clean and convenient installation.

The main radio body easily installs underneath a car seat or in compartments found in most recent vehicles.  It has an internal speaker and the option to use up to two external speakers. Add the data ports for packet operation, and there isn't much else you could ask a mobile to do.

Kenwood has done it again with this model.  It's tough, well designed, and every detail has been taken into consideration.  The large back-lit LCD panel is easy to read, dim-able for night driving and customizable in color and some layout aspects.

If you're looking for a dual-band radio for mobile or home use, and consider APRS and Packet useful or critical capabilities, this is definitely the radio to have.
